Community · Developer Experience · NYC, Toronto, SF, LA · 2025–2026

Co-created and ran The Future of DevEx, a cross-city event series in NYC, Toronto, San Francisco, and Los Angeles bringing together engineers, founders, and toolmakers to define what comes next for developer workflows. Part of a growing movement around AI-native developer experience, observability, and the workflows shaping the next decade of software.

Challenge
The conversation about developer experience was scattered across product launches, Twitter threads, and podcast hot takes. There was no high-signal, in-person venue where the people actually building the next generation of dev tools could trade notes on what was working, what was broken, and where the field was going. Founders and engineers wanted real talks, not sponsored panels.
Solution
Built a recurring, invite-quality event series across four cities with a tight curation bar. Programmed every event around lightning talks from operators shipping the work, hands-on demos from emerging tools, and unstructured time for the room to actually meet each other. Partnered with the developer tools shaping the category to bring credibility and community at every stop.
Impact
- •Co-hosted Future of DevEx events across NYC, Toronto, San Francisco, and Los Angeles
- •Drew 300+ attendees per flagship event, engineers, founders, and toolmakers from across the dev ecosystem
- •Curated talks from operators at Vercel, PostHog, Grafana, Cloudflare, AWS, Convex, Stytch, Deskree, and Recce
- •Set the bar for what an in-person developer experience gathering should feel like, signal-dense, builder-led, no fluff
- •Built a cross-city community of engineers and founders shaping the next generation of developer tooling
Results
- •Established Future of DevEx as a recurring fixture in the developer tooling community calendar
- •Created a high-trust network of engineers, founders, and DevEx leaders across four metro areas
- •Generated organic inbound from teams asking to host or speak at the next stop
